Following the water theme in this collection of
songs, "The Front" captures the feeling of an impending shift in
the weather. This song evokes images of dark, blue-grey clouds rolling
over Lake Michigan where I visit in the summer. The quiet beginning and
breakdown remind me of the changing nature of the weather, while the
growling bass quickly brings to mind the rolling clouds as heavy winds
constantly transform and reshape them as they gust overhead. Listen for
the wind at the end of the song...
The original version of this song was entitled,
"The Formation," while the idea is the same, the original name
never captured it for me. "The Front" is definitely one of my
favorite songs and love this version. I will probably edit and change a
few levels before its complete.
