University of Phoenix: Master of Mental Health Counseling

This year I began the long road towards becoming a professional counselor. In February 2008, I was accepted into the graduate program at University of Phoenix. Classes towards a Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling began on April 1, 2008..

I have two years of course work ahead of me. Once concluded, I have a 45 week internship working as a counselor before graduating as a Certified Professional Counselor Intern (CPCI). After a few more years, and a lot of clinical hours, I can apply for my license as a Professional Counselor (LPC).

During this time, I plan to continue working as a Family Teacher for Utah Youth Village. My plan is to also complete my internship and clinical hours towards a license at the Village as well. Once classes are underway, I will update this page with course work information and progress updates!
