Humanities Papers Ideas of Justice: Glass Shield vs. L.A. Confidential 16 November 2004 Second of two required essays for Contemporary Film and Popular Culture at Arizona State, this paper was much easier to write. I had since learned the instructor only wanted a reiteration of his own ideas and theories as discussed in class, even though this was supposedly a work of critical opinion. Minor edits have been made.
15 September 2004 This paper was my first critical essay for Contemporary Film and Popular Culture at Arizona State. This paper was difficult because of the required short length and the necessity of supporting film theories I vehemently despise. I later learned the instructor was seeking specific ideas and examples outside the parameters of the original question. In all, a good and valuable experience. Minor edits have been made.
Spring 2001 Written for my Rock Music and Culture class, this paper focuses on the music industry. Why does some music endure and others transitory? What does the contradictory term Popular Alternative mean? This is more of an overview of my opinions on the industry and is pretty short, but a good read.
5 May 1999 This paper was written on the influence of digital technology on the film industry as an English 102 research paper. At the time, the world was eagerly anticipating the release of STAR WARS: Episode One - The Phantom Menace. This paper examines the benefits of digital technology, specifically in context of the first STAR WARS prequel.
This paper was such a favorite of mine that even after losing my electronic copy during a computer crash, I have re-typed it from my only hard copy in order to reproduce it here. I have included a follow up as well since five years have passed and this was written before Episode One was released in theaters.
