Research Papers
Marital Satisfaction and Divorce: 29 October 2004 My final research paper for my undergraduate degree at Arizona State, and my best. Written for Advanced Marriage and Family Relationships, this paper was to explore a topic of our choosing. Since marriage and family therapy is my desired career, I took this opportunity to research the marriage relationship as it relates to interventions. I am pleased to say this paper earned one of the highest grades in the class.
Early intervention investigation: Children who are deaf and hard of hearing 29 April 2004 This paper was written for my second Early Intervention class at Arizona State University. This research paper required the discussion of etiology, developmental impact, and available intervention services for a disability or disorder of our choosing as related to early childhood. I choose deafness since I was finishing my fourth semester of sign language, and this project seemed a great opportunity to bridge two areas of learning together.
Peer Victimization and Social Interaction 16 February 2004 This was the first writing assignment during my undergraduate research methods class. The purpose of the assignment was to integrate four research articles on a topic of our choosing. I did not have as much time to write this paper as I would have liked, and feel it could be clearer. This was also my first time using the academic language found in research articles.
Is my child developmentally on track? 9 December 2003 Written for Early Childhood Intervention at Arizona State University, this assignment required me to observe a three-year old child and answer hypothetical questions a parent may ask regarding the child's social competence and social development. This was a great exercise in assessing a real child's development and articulating theory as it related to a real life situation.
